LIGHT87

Reviewer verdict

Across 2 YouTube reviews, the MageGee LIGHT87 earns a Summa score of 4.2/5, ranking #26 among Gaming Keyboards. Reviewers most often praise its features, build quality, aesthetics/design, while the most common criticisms concern software/customization, build quality.

The LIGHT87 earns consistent praise for its feature set, with reviewers (5 mentions) highlighting south-facing LEDs, a 5-pin hot-swappable PCB, tri-mode connectivity, and a dual-battery system with a combined 8000mAh capacity. Multiple reviewers (4 mentions) note solid build quality and pre-modded touches like factory-lubed stabilizers and a silicone mold in the base that reduces hollowness. Aesthetics and comfort also come up (3 mentions for design, 2 for ergonomics), citing a minimalist look, bright saturated RGB, a smooth lightbar, creamy comfortable keycaps, and thick double-shot PBT keycaps. Reviewers additionally report reliable wireless performance and a compact, responsive layout appropriate for both first-time setups and secondary use.

Criticisms are fewer but notable: two reviewers mention software problems, including nonfunctional software in Bluetooth mode and dislike of the new interface. Reviewers also warn that disassembly is difficult and risky without experience, and a couple of build-related concerns appear: the body is made of ABS plastic and can show some flex when deliberately bent. These negatives are less frequent than the praises but could affect customization and long-term confidence for some users.
