Reviewer verdict

Across 3 YouTube reviews, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 8GB (2023 Refresh) earns a Summa score of 4.1/5, ranking #11 among GPUs (Graphics Cards). Reviewers most often praise its gaming performance, cooling, features, while the most common criticisms concern gaming performance, features.

Reviewers praise the GeForce RTX 3050 8GB (2023 Refresh) for delivering strong rasterized gaming performance, frequently noting high frame rates (many mentions of 120–200+ FPS in 1080p and solid results at 1440p) and usable ray tracing and DLSS support. Multiple reviewers also highlight good thermal behavior and quiet operation, reporting GPU clocks over 2000 MHz with temperatures generally under 60°C and low noise. The card’s feature set (including modern NVIDIA ray tracing/AI upscaling and display/output options) and headroom for modest overclocks were noted by several reviewers. A few reviewers additionally flagged AV1 encoding support and overall solid build quality as positives, though these were mentioned less often.

Criticisms center on the 8 GB of VRAM and its limits in modern, memory-heavy games, with reviewers reporting instances where games like The Last of Us remake and Jedi Survivor can use near or above available memory and force quality reductions or spillover to system RAM. Several reviewers also pointed out that in some benchmarks the card loses to certain AMD and Intel alternatives and can trail higher-tier NVIDIA models, indicating it isn’t always the best performer for its class. Additional concerns include the relatively narrow memory bus and occasional DLSS visual anomalies or cases where upscaling did not improve performance, though these points were mentioned by fewer reviewers.

  • at Max settings but only 1080p resolution The Last of Us remake gobbles up a whopping 8.9 gigs of video memory meaning that with an 8 gig card some of that is going to spill out into your system memory which significantly harms performance or even worse if you have an older system and not even that old just one that doesn't support resizable bar there is no overflow you simply will need to turn down your graphical settings and this isn't an isolated problem THANK YOU NVIDIA!! - RTX 4060 Ti Review @ 1:02
  • we're losing to not only several AMD cards but sometimes Intel's Arc a770 and this one Hurts the Most even the 3060 TI and the worst part is this isn't isolated digging into our spec view perf benchmarks the 6700 XT and the 3060 TI often come out ahead or basically on par with nvidia's new hotness THANK YOU NVIDIA!! - RTX 4060 Ti Review @ 5:07
  • Jedi Survivor is another recent game that is reportedly using up to 10 gigs of vram at 1080p epic settings THANK YOU NVIDIA!! - RTX 4060 Ti Review @ 1:34
  • except in The Last of Us probably because of that vram issue THANK YOU NVIDIA!! - RTX 4060 Ti Review @ 2:41

  • dlss isn't perfect there are still some visual anomalies from time to time and we did find outliers where performance did not improve for example using dlss3 and returnal resulted in a degraded experience whether we had frame generation enabled or not THANK YOU NVIDIA!! - RTX 4060 Ti Review @ 7:38
