GE Profile UltraFast Combo Ventless Washer/Dryer PFQ97HSPVDS

Reviewer verdict

Across 20 YouTube reviews, the GE Profile UltraFast Combo Ventless Washer/Dryer PFQ97HSPVDS earns a Summa score of 3.6/5, ranking #1 among Washers & Dryers. Reviewers most often praise its ease of use, features, drying performance, while the most common criticisms concern maintenance, ease of use.

Praised as a revolutionary appliance, this unit masterfully combines a washer and dryer into a single, space-saving machine. Its ventless heat pump technology is highly efficient, running on a standard 120V outlet for incredible installation flexibility. Users love the large 4.8 cu. ft. capacity, which handles bulky items like king-size comforters with ease. Performance consistently impresses, with clothes emerging clean and, crucially, dry—a common failing of other combo units. Convenience is paramount, thanks to smart features like the automatic detergent dispenser that holds dozens of loads and a genuinely useful smartphone app for remote monitoring and control. This combination of effective performance and hands-off features makes it a standout choice in its category.

The most significant drawback is a flawed filter design that allows lint and pet hair to bypass the screen and clog the internal heat pump coils. This fundamental issue severely degrades drying performance over time and necessitates a demanding, ongoing maintenance routine. Users report needing to frequently clean multiple filters and hard-to-reach areas, often with specialized tools or DIY modifications like taping filter gaps to improve the seal. Neglecting this meticulous upkeep can lead to very long drying cycles, damp clothes, and potentially major, expensive repairs to core components. The unit's high upfront cost and extremely heavy weight are also notable concerns for potential buyers.
