Reviewer verdict
Across 4 YouTube reviews, the Iiwey D2 Pro earns a Summa score of 3.6/5, ranking #40 among Dash Cams. Reviewers most often praise its features, design & build quality, video quality, while the most common criticisms concern video quality, night vision.
Reviewers consistently praise the Iiwey D2 Pro for its high-quality video recording, with many models offering up to 4K resolution that captures excellent detail and color during the day. Its wide-angle lens, often up to 170 degrees, provides extensive coverage with minimal blind spots, and dual-camera setups ensure both front and rear views are recorded. The compact, low-profile design is another key advantage, allowing it to be neatly hidden behind a rearview mirror without obstructing the driver's view. Added features such as built-in GPS for logging location and speed, Wi-Fi for easy app control, a 24-hour parking monitor, and an included microSD card make it a comprehensive package.
A significant drawback highlighted by reviewers is the camera's inability to reliably capture readable license plate numbers at distances beyond 10-12 meters, a limitation that worsens in low-light conditions. While the 4K resolution is a selling point, it consumes significantly more memory card space and doesn't always guarantee clarity at a distance. Additionally, the installation process can be challenging, with users noting that routing the extensive cabling for the rear camera is often cumbersome. Some found wiring specific features, like the rear camera's reverse lights, to be confusing and potentially require professional help.
