Core Ultra 9 285H

Reviewer verdict

Across 13 YouTube reviews, the Intel Core Ultra 9 285H earns a Summa score of 3.9/5, ranking #7 among CPUs. Reviewers most often praise its value for money, performance, integrated graphics, while the most common criticisms concern features, compatibility.

The Core Ultra 9 285H is widely praised for delivering strong value for money, with reviewers frequently highlighting its affordable price point, solid build, and roomy feature set (mentioned across many reviews). Reviewers also consistently applaud its performance and efficiency: the new Ultra-series CPU is reported to offer notable single‑ and multi‑core gains, good battery life, and manageable thermals in real‑world workloads. Integrated graphics and gaming capability are repeatedly called out as a surprising improvement over previous Intel integrated GPUs, and many reviews note a high‑quality OLED display, comfortable input devices, and useful I/O like full‑size SD and multiple SSD slots. Overall, praise is concentrated around price‑to‑performance, balanced power efficiency, improved iGPU, and a strong display/keyboard experience, with these themes appearing across the majority of sampled reviews.

Criticisms cluster around feature and platform tradeoffs that reviewers repeatedly mention, most commonly soldered (non‑upgradeable) RAM, platform compatibility/driver quirks, and various display or chassis annoyances such as PWM flicker at low brightness, screen wobble, and glossy/reflective panels. Several reviewers also flagged that the iGPU and gaming performance, while improved, are still limited relative to discrete or higher‑end mobile GPUs, and some noted reduced multi‑core performance in certain configurations or workloads. A smaller but recurring set of complaints covers noisy fans or hot spots under heavy load and a few ergonomics/design nitpicks (stiff keys, port placement, charger location).
