Reviewer verdict

Across 17 YouTube reviews, the Neato D8 earns a Summa score of 3.4/5, ranking #82 among Robot Vacuums. Reviewers most often praise its cleaning performance, navigation, ease of use, while the most common criticisms concern navigation, battery life.

The Neato D8 is frequently praised for its cleaning performance, with many reviewers (44 mentions) highlighting its D‑shape, very wide 11‑inch brush roll, strong pickup on hard floors and carpets, and effective edge and corner cleaning. Its LIDAR‑based navigation and mapping features are also widely applauded (35 mentions) for methodical straight‑line cleaning, reliable return‑to‑base behavior, and support for no‑go zones and room labeling via the app. Reviewers also commonly note ease of use (23 mentions) — a user‑friendly app, simple setup, voice prompts, and helpful maintenance features like a large dust bin and included extra filters (15 mentions). Additional positives reported by multiple reviewers include strong suction in higher modes, relatively quiet operation in eco mode, and overall attractive, functional design.

Many reviewers raise concerns about navigation reliability (35 mentions), reporting that the D8 can get stuck, struggles in tight spaces, repeats actions, and is limited to saving only one map or lacking some granular no‑go functionality. Battery life and runtime are recurring drawbacks (15 mentions), with several reviewers noting the D8’s relatively short 100‑minute run time, faster drain in higher modes, and the need to recharge between floors. Maintenance complaints (14 mentions) include the absence of an auto‑empty base, filter and bin handling that can be messy, and issues with hair wrapping around the brush; some reviewers also reported intermittent hardware or durability problems. A smaller but notable set of reviewers criticized inconsistent cleaning in corners/edges and louder noise or turbo‑mode problems during certain runs.
