Cons (243)

Sound Quality (49)

I wanted a little more treble because I like more detail. The Bathys, however, will smooth right over that ▶ Focal Bathys Review (or How a Pair of Headphones Changed Me) @ 2:30
the overall sound is grainier than I would expect for something at this price ▶ Focal Bathys Review (or How a Pair of Headphones Changed Me) @ 11:32
what they lack in detail there, they don’t make up for in excitement. ▶ Focal Bathys Review (or How a Pair of Headphones Changed Me) @ 4:13
It also lacks the deep bass physicality you’d get out of something like the Sennheiser Momentum 4 ▶ Focal Bathys Review (or How a Pair of Headphones Changed Me) @ 3:05
It doesn’t have a particularly wide sound stage ▶ Focal Bathys Review (or How a Pair of Headphones Changed Me) @ 2:08
I found myself having to turn the music down at times after an hour of consistent listening though my ears eventually adapted to the aggression of the mid-range ▶ Focal Bathys Bluetooth Noise-Canceling Headphones Re-Reviewe @ 3:40
the mid-range I think I would call it sharp it was a little too harsh for my taste ▶ Focal Bathys Bluetooth Noise-Canceling Headphones Re-Reviewe @ 3:36
the clarity and Dynamics were a bit muddled just just a bit by the base ▶ Focal Bathys Bluetooth Noise-Canceling Headphones Re-Reviewe @ 3:57

sound quality not as good as audiophile headphones ▶ Focal Bathys Review: Not for Me! Maybe for You? @ 6:53
timbre is average, sounds metallic ▶ Focal Bathys Review: Not for Me! Maybe for You? @ 14:23
the depth of the music slightly decreases moving the background slightly forward and there's a slight smearing of the transients mostly audible in the upper mid-range ▶ Focal Bathys Review | Audiophile Noise-Canceling Headphones @ 12:29
there's also a little bit of that sort of punctuation uh and and sharpness that exists in the mid treble right at around like you know 8 KZ ▶ Focal Bathys MG Review - Raising the bar @ 7:31
you can't expect these to offer the same open and spacious performance as other focal offerings like the Utopia and the clear mg ▶ Focal Bathys Wireless Review: Dive into the Deep End @ 9:20
for people looking for that you know super you know effortless Sound Stage kind of thing that's not really what I get with these headphones ▶ Focal Bathys MG Review - Raising the bar @ 7:20
main criticism of both of these headphones has to do with the transition between the base and the lower mids I think it is a little bit too far forward on both of them it tends to walk that line a little bit for me between thick and boomy ▶ Focal Bathys MG Review - Raising the bar @ 6:14
sharpness to the s's fs and T's ▶ Focal Bathys MG Review - Raising the bar @ 7:40
there's not a lot of sub Bass to it so everything I'm going to say 30 20 Hertz on down you're not really getting a lot of that low end vibration ▶ Focal Bathys The BEST Sounding Noise Cancelling Headphones O @ 7:38
reason for that is this is where the positional variation goes quite wide with his headphone like the positional consistency for the PMG basically ends at around 1 khz ▶ Focal Bathys MG Review - Raising the bar @ 8:58
treble frequency sound somewhat veiled with a dip in the low treble transitioning into the mid treble. This dip deemphasizes articulation and sailing ▶ Focal Bathys Wireless Review: Dive into the Deep End @ 5:12
not quite that kind of tight and tactile base that I usually prefer ▶ Focal Bathys MG Review - Raising the bar @ 6:28
tone can sound a little bit swollen on these headphones or a little bit emphasized ▶ Focal Bathys MG Review - Raising the bar @ 6:47
little bit on the thick side of things particularly to do with a forward character in the lower mid-range ▶ Focal Bathys MG Review - Raising the bar @ 5:15
The Traveler does feel a touch laid back and smooth ▶ Focal Bathys Review: These Or B&W Px8?! [SOUND TEST] @ 6:46

makes the Bathys maybe not as well suited for those tracks when you're out and about ▶ Minidisc Weekly Update #16: B&W Px7 S3 / Focal Bathys Review @ 3:00
out of the box the sound is a bit more compressed into the midband ▶ Minidisc Weekly Update #16: B&W Px7 S3 / Focal Bathys Review @ 3:30
upper treble could be more forward, very detailed but have to search for it, doesn't come across airy or open above 10kHz, some things don't sparkle as much as they should ▶ FOCAL Made a Bluetooth Headphone! @ 7:17
the extra high frequencies I do find can be a little bit strident and edgy with high energy pop genres ▶ Minidisc Weekly Update #16: B&W Px7 S3 / Focal Bathys Review @ 2:46
imaging and soundstage pale in comparison to Airpod Max ▶ FOCAL Made a Bluetooth Headphone! @ 9:10
mid-range passable, slight dip at 1kHz ▶ FOCAL Made a Bluetooth Headphone! @ 7:54
dip in mid-range around 1kHz, treble a little bit forward, S's and T's harsh, after 10kHz slowly slopes down, a little sharp and shouty, too pushy in upper mid-range lower treble ▶ FOCAL Made a Bluetooth Headphone! @ 6:45

just love to be able to hear my own voice a little bit while speaking on the phone because that would make the phone call a little bit more natural to me ▶ Focal Bathys Review | Audiophile Noise-Canceling Headphones @ 17:14
with these active noise canceling headphones is that with the noise canceling activated I always tend to find that these types of headphones tend to have a process sound to them and this still does sound processed ▶ Focal Bathys The BEST Sounding Noise Cancelling Headphones O @ 7:00
because it's a little bit heavier than other ANC headphones when you actually wear these headphones they tend to move around a little bit when you're walking so the physical movement of a step can cause the headphones to kind of you know go up and down a little bit and this does have an effect on thec consistency ▶ Focal Bathys MG Review - Raising the bar @ 12:54
they aren't the very best headphones for noise cancellation ▶ Focal Bathys Wireless Review: Dive into the Deep End @ 7:06
they don't have a wind reduction mode so you might hear some unpleasant anti-noise produced by the ANC system in response to gusts of wind interacting with the mics ▶ Focal Bathys Wireless Review: Dive into the Deep End @ 7:14
if you do use this in transparent mode there's always going to be a very light hiss in the background ▶ Focal Bathys The BEST Sounding Noise Cancelling Headphones O @ 4:06
ANC inconsistency can be annoying uh when you're walking around outside with it ▶ Focal Bathys MG Review - Raising the bar @ 13:31
with the noise canceling turned up all the way it does give it a more processed sound ▶ Focal Bathys The BEST Sounding Noise Cancelling Headphones O @ 6:52
on our unit enabling ANC modes increases the headphones noise floor, this unwanted background noise can annoy some people ▶ Focal Bathys Wireless Review: Dive into the Deep End @ 7:32
noise canceling is mid, not as good as Sony or Airpods ▶ Skip rent, buy these! - Focal Bathys @ 12:43
it does still let in higher pitched frequencies as well as a bit of sound in the upper mid range this means voices and the likes are a bit more audible here making the ANC performance not quite as comparable to the Boris and Wilkins px8 for example and definitely a bit of a distance away from the Sony wh-1000x Mark V ▶ Focal Bathys Review: These Or B&W Px8?! there is no way to extend the battery life by turning off the ANC as there is no option of disabling this feature ▶ At Last, Bluetooth Headphones For The Audiophile | Focal Bat @ 2:27
in terms of noise cancellation the focal bathys are not the best they offer two modes soft and Silent the former does not seem to have any sort of impact in my tests ▶ At Last, Bluetooth Headphones For The Audiophile | Focal Bat @ 3:23
in transparency mode, I was also getting some static and overly Amplified surrounding sound which was a little bit unpleasant ▶ At Last, Bluetooth Headphones For The Audiophile | Focal Bat @ 4:01
pass-through mode functional but doesn't stand out, not as high fidelity as Apple's, noticeable high-pitched whine ▶ FOCAL Made a Bluetooth Headphone! @ 4:41
