The Sonos Ace are widely praised for their feature set and integration with Sonos soundbars, with many reviewers (43 mentions) highlighting TV audio swap, spatial audio with head tracking, intuitive physical controls and app-based EQ. Reviewers (41 mentions) consistently compliment the sound quality, calling the Ace balanced, rich in mids and bass, and excellent out of the box. Active noise cancellation and transparency/aware modes are repeatedly singled out (40 mentions) as class-leading or on par with high-end rivals, creating a very private listening experience. Other commonly noted strengths include comfortable memory-foam ear pads and light build (31 mentions), solid battery life with fast charging (21 mentions), and reliable connectivity options including Bluetooth multipoint and wired USB-C/3.5mm support (18 mentions).

Common criticisms focus on software and feature limitations (42 mentions), especially a very basic two-band EQ, limited Sonos ecosystem integration at launch, and TV-audio-swap limitations to specific soundbars and iOS. Some reviewers (27 mentions) found the soundstage narrow or occasionally muffled compared with flagship competitors, noting uneven frequency response or a less spacious presentation. Connectivity and cable issues were mentioned (17 mentions), including short included cables, intermittent disconnects or latency with TV swap, while build and accessory quality complaints (15 mentions) center on zipper problems, delicate felt pouch, and lack of water/dust rating. A minority also raised concerns about design choices and comfort for larger heads or hot use (9–15 mentions) and value at the stated price point (10 mentions).
